Erin Barry, CPA
In 2014, Erin Barry founded Simply Taxes with a focus on providing cost-effective, high-quality tax preparation services. Since then, the firm has grown to provide bookkeeping, payroll and other financial services as well.
After serving in the United States Marine Corps for four years, Erin went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy. She has over 20 years of experience in accounting and she earned her CPA in 2008. Currently, Erin is a valued member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Arizona Society of CPAs.
Emmily Guillermo
A young student of the field, Emmily Guillermo is currently enrolled in ASU Online, pursuing a degree in Accounting. Starting with Simply Taxes in 2018, Emmily is eager to grow as an Accountant, applying her skills and love of knowledge with the company. She assists with tax preparation, bookkeeping, networking, and social media. She is currently enjoying her work with Simply Taxes, playing with her dog, Mazie, and reading when she gets the chance.
Nolan Ruff
As a recent graduate from Regis University in Denver, Colorado, Nolan intends to utilize his Accounting degree to further his experience in the Tax field. He is hastily working towards earning his CPA license and looks to be certified within the next year or two. Starting at the beginning of 2021, Nolan has been assisting Simply Taxes as a staff accountant preparing returns, handling company books, and any other project that comes his way. After playing baseball from his youth to the end of college, Nolan has hung up his cleats and looks to play an important role for the Simply Taxes team.
Tyrel Milam
Joining as an intern in 2023 then full time staff in 2024, Tyrel has thoroughly enjoyed the experience he has gained working at Simply Taxes. He is currently earning a bachelor's degree in accounting at ASU and is fascinated by numbers. Tyrel helps with preparing returns, bookkeeping, and generally pitches in around the office to support the team. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, singing in choirs or performing on stage, and reading his Bible.
Zaach C.
Since Joining the team in 2024, Zaach prepares returns, works on bookkeeping, and does whatever he can around the office to help his team out. Zaach attended Arizona Christian University where he played football and is also where he fell in love with accounting. After graduating with his Bachelors, Zaach sought his passion of accounting and eventually found his home at Simply Taxes. Outside of accounting he has a passion for football, basketball, cars, and food.
Jennifer C.
Jennifer started her career by interning for a small CPA firm while attending college at Devry Institute of Technology for her Bachelor of Science in Accounting. After graduating, she worked for small family-owned businesses strengthening her skills at bookkeeping, payroll taxes, sales taxes and financial statements. She returned to public accounting nearly 5 years later where she gained valuable experience in tax preparation, tax planning, tax compliance & more given her decades long experience in the public accounting industry. Having learned from the best CPA’s in the business she now holds the title of Tax Manager at Simply Taxes, a move that puts a smile on her face every day. When she is not working, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family and friends and Jeep 4x4 wheeling in her Rubicon fondly named Sheila.
Jeremiah Suta
Starting his path into Tax accounting in 2020, Jeremiah strives to bring value, hospitality and quality to the clients he works with. While attending Yavapai College for his associate's in applied accounting, he began preparing taxes for local individuals at a small firm. After graduation, he began broadening his horizons and working with businesses and trusts as well in a larger firm in the valley. After finding his home at Simply Taxes, Jeremiah has continued his education and is working towards his Enrolled Agent certificate, while diligently working to provide quality bookkeeping, tax preparation, and any other project that comes his way to help the team. Once a culinary professional, Jeremiah strives for the quality control that is sought after in both professions. Outside of Accounting, Jeremiah’s passions lie in reading, cars, culinary arts, board games, and hockey.
Ruben Gallegos
Ruben started his career with a small CPA firm in north central Phoenix after graduating from DeVry University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Information Technology. With 9 years of International Tax experience, at both the individual (HNW) and corporate level, Ruben brings a combined 23 years of professional experience to Simply Taxes. Ruben is married with kids, an Arizona native and is currently studying for the EA certification. Ruben joined Simply Taxes in December of 2025 and holds the title of Tax Manager.
Laura Pewett
Laura is an experienced Administrative Human Resources Professional with over 20 years background in HR operations, employee support, and organizational administration.
Laura has a high standard of professionalism, is committed to supporting workplace culture, operational excellence, and effective human resource practices that align with organizational goals.
Laura enjoys spending time with her family RVing, traveling, and focused on self care initiatives.
